One of many things I have been exploring in the Bible recently is how (and what) Abraham learned about righteousness and mercy in the Genesis stories of his family. I want to learn it also. My problem has been finding a couple of other people willing to sit down and talk about it.
I love that story! I can see it when I read it and just imagine the face of his servant as his eyes take it all in. I wonder would my face be as shocked? I know it would even though I don’t want it to be. I want to know that truth in my core but if I were to suddenly see a heavenly rescue I would have a shocked face I’m sure.
The eyes of the Lord?? All the verses in that section express our dependence on God to see clearly…open my eyes…and they also talk about where our focus is…eyes lifted up to the hills…and looking to God for his mercy! Love the Ephesians prayer: that the eyes of our hearts enlightened, so that we can live a hope and power filled life! And the faith of Mary, who had found favor with God? “…let it be unto me…”
Really like all your questions, great way to get us all thinking…my spouse and I had a recent conversation about what she had read in Isaiah about the “last days” so I have been digging into that as a potential series of posts…stay tuned!
"Continuing with my Gospel of Luke series, in this post, I will look at Luke 1:28-37. If we all had the spiritual vision like the Prophets, Apostles, or the Angels I wonder what our lives might be like? Have you wondered like me, what can Angels see that we cannot? Angels have the benefit of seeing God’s plans unfold and His wisdom, skill, and ability in extending the plan of salvation to mankind. From my previous post, we learned that Angel Gabriel, means “mighty”, mighty in appearance and mighty in Vision."
And made me think of how Peter beautifully explained in his letter of 1 Peter 1 from verse 7
that the proving of your ·faith, more precious than gold that perisheth though it is proved by fire, be found unto praise and glory and honor at the revelation of Jesus Christ:
8 whom not seeing ye love; on whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice greatly with joy unspeakable and glorified:
9 receiving the end of the faith, salvation of souls.
10 Concerning which salvation prophets sought and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that is unto you:
11 searching what time or what manner of season Christ’s Spirit who was in them did point unto, when he testified beforehand the sufferings unto Christ, and the glories after them.
12 To whom it was revealed, that not to themselves, but to you, did they minister the very things, which now have been announced to you through them that preached the gospel to you by the Holy Spirit sent forth from heaven; which things angels desire to look into.
So as Spirit born sons and daughters mysteries have been revealed to us that angels are desiring to look into grasp and fathom. This is truly amazing!!
This is a really good and timely message. I believe when we get to Heaven we'll be astonished at the spiritual realm that was all around us. I love that quote from Psalms 34:7. I try to pray over certain areas of the city when I'm downtown. There are some good references here that I should print out for that purpose. Our church just finished a series on Nehemiah and answering the call on your life. Very inspiring! God usually uses Jonah to prod me. Now he's using Nehemiah. Lol. Sometimes I wonder why God called me to write his story? Someone who is so easily distracted.
The other day I was with my daughter in a parking lot. She had a bad seizure a couple of days before. I asked her if she had any spiritual experiences since and she said, "I don't like to talk about the darkness because it summons them." She does have a healthy respect for darkness and can feel it. She's gotten out of some pretty awful situations. I wish she would submit to someone who can bring healing from that. But I like tothink she has angels around protecting her.
Amen Rosemary. Keep charging and be bold in sharing the Gospel, praying for your daughter and ministry. Keep being a light. Thanks for sharing what the Lord is teaching you.
Thanks for sharing Darnell. Those are some incredible reminders and helps to Trust Him in whatever circumstances we are in. I love the prophecy in the Bible as well, amazes me the details of some of it, like how It was foretold of the location and Christs birth in Micah and the Savior would be from the Tribe of Judah.

Thanks for sharing Jerry. That is a good topic to explore.

Thanks for the comments, I like Elisha’s calmness and the contrast with the servant.

Thanks Chuck. Look forward to your posts on it. Great area to explore further and apply. Thank you for sharing and encouragement.
I found this paragraph very interesting:

Thanks for the comments and perspective
