Thank you Paul for your vulnerability in sharing such difficult childhood memories, and especially how God met you (commanded you) to go now.

Your transparency helps me as a reader to know you better, and also to marvel at what God has done in your life, for it surely shows in your excellent communication of God’s word in your writing. He uses our sufferings and the trials we endure to grow us into the likeness of His Son Jesus.

Thank you kindly Debi. We know even the wounds have a purpose, my brokenness led me to Jesus who heals and restores.

Bless you @Michelle Romano. Yes, I am drafting an idea. I know painful experiences can shape a person for good, mine helped me know Christ more. Thanks for commenting and your kindness.

I'm a newer author, so I'm happy to help if you have questions. Some of the best books I've ever read were memoirs.

Paul I look at the young man I knew and am so proud of the man you became. I had a brother who was 8?years older and violent so I understand …but God had His hand on us and we became over-comers. To Him be the glory!

Thank you for sharing your childhood with us. Though difficult, those memories have molded the compassionate person you've become. Perhaps that word 'Go' is a bigger picture of what he has for you?

The story of the widow of Nain always resonates with me. Although my daughter has not died, she is dead to Christ right now and living in a perilous position even though she is home and mostly off fentanyl, she could easily OD at any time. It's been a comfort to me to see his compassion for this woman and her dead son at times when I was strugging in my faith. He truly does have the words of life!

Hi Paul,

I understand the fear that drives deep into a child's heart in moments like the one you experienced. I'm sorry we have that in common, but rejoice that He rescues, restores, and redeems His lost lambs.

Amen Tammy. Writing it out helped get some further perspective. God reminded me he has always been near me, and helped me develop a sensitive heart for others who have gone through similar experiences. I love how God is 'close' in our circumstances.

Paul, thank you for sharing so candidly. I cannot help but think of just how good the Lord is to cover us. It is truly miraculous to be able to look back and see how He was there, which serves to solidify His presence now. It is beautiful.

The widow of Nain is also so incredible and the heart of our Savior on full display. His desire is for us to live, restored—whole in Him.
