Lots of drama around John his whole life, because he was a fire and a hammer! Makes me wonder, though, what kind of fire and hammer is he calling me to be?! Love your Luke posts!

Thanks Chuck. He made some noise for sure. He brought light into the darkness. I wonder the same on what the Lord has for us.

The humility of John the Baptiste is actually what speaks heavily to me most times. The way he could allow his influence to decrease to allow God's will to happen has a lot to teach the proud self-centred Christian world today. Thanks for sharing Paul

Thank you Derick for sharing and I like your perspective on John the Baptist and how believers in Christ can model away from proud self-centered behavior. When people are unselfish it helps bring light in the darkness.

Each summer my family travels to the mountains of Colorado. There we make a campfire each night. Each time I sit and just look at the fire I always think of the verse in Revelation 1 that describes Jesus' eyes like flames of fire. I am reminded that just like the fire is warm, and comforting, so it is powerful and dangerous. I think this can describe Jesus too! Love this post!

Thanks Cherise. Colorado is very beautiful and sounds like some good memories. Yes, a fire is warm and powerful and love the reference to Revelation on the eyes of Christ who can see all things.
