The discussion on the parallels between a trade and ministry resonated with me. Prior to my retirement, I was a military and commercial pilot. Professionally, we had a comprehensive set of operational procedures, for both normal and abnormal operations. We had to be "people of the book"-- that is, not just familiar with procedure, but experts (memorized), because we had to apply them in a wide range and ever-changing set of circumstances (weather, delays, etc.). I remember challenging my Sunday school class, to compare the competency that was required for them to excel in their chosen profession, to the "competency" and discipline they had obtained--or were pursuing--in their faith in Christ. Ministry of any kind is hard and filled with uncertainty. All the more reason to "up our game" in the areas we can control and/or be better at!
Thanks @GeorgeAnn. Appreciate you and your encouragement.
Thanks for the art prompt.
Thanks Janis @Growing Through God’s Word. I appreciate your talents and heart for Jesus.
I like the way you ask questions as you read through the passage.
Good input and glad that helps.
Thank you @Mariska Burger for restacking and your encouragement. Be blessed. Let’s keep listening for King Jesus.
