What chains have held you captive, and how has God set you free?

One of the most powerful stories in Luke’s Gospel is that of Mary Magdalene: “and also some women who had been cured of evil spirits and diseases: Mary (called Magdalene) from whom seven demons had come out;” - Luke 8:2.

“The evil one is strong, but Christ is stronger than he” - Charles Spurgeon

Mary Magdalene: A Story of Deliverance

Mary was delivered from seven demons, a burden that made her unique among those who followed Jesus. After her deliverance, she feared nothing but God and remained steadfast in her support of Him, even when others abandoned Him. Mary Magdalene followed Jesus to the cross and the tomb, while the disciples fled in fear. She waited in trust for her Deliverer and would not abandon the one who rescued her. Her faith was rewarded when she became the first person Jesus appeared to at His Resurrection (John 20:11-18).

My Journey of Healing

Beloved, what has God delivered you from? For me, it was the pain of fatherlessness. My earthly father was quick to anger and poor in love. In contrast, my Heavenly Father showed me a love that is rich and patient.

If you seek deliverance, ask Him for help; He gives wisdom generously to those who ask.

Closing Prayer:

Lord, help us recognize the chains that weigh us down, whether it be past hurts or unhealthy habits that don’t glorify you. I pray in the Name that is above every name, in Jesus name. Amen.
